What's the matter, what's wrong?
Tell me the reason he's the one you avoid.
He can't hold on for long, despite being strong.
Can your reason justify his being destroyed?
Each time you walk by and don't say hello.
Each time you see him and look away,
Each time you don't look at all.
Each time you go the other way.
Just imagine, what your indifference is doing to his gentle soul.
Each time he jokes and you refuse to laugh,
Each time he talks and you refuse to listen.
Each time he reaches and you won't in half,
Each time he appears and you lack vision.
Just imagine, what your apathy is doing to his lonely soul.
Each time you both meet and don't mingle,
Each time you both sit and don't stand.
Each time you both greet but don't intermingle,
Each time you both fit but don't understand.
Just imagine, what your detachment is doing to his poor soul.
Voice your reason, don't postpone.
Let it be heard, Let it be known.
That your holding is justified,
That his grief should be multiplied.
Imagine what your indifference is doing to his already broken heart,
Imagine what your indifference is doing to his spirit, now torn apart.
Imagine what you've done to this innocent being.
Imagine what it's like to never stop dreaming.
