In a distant galaxy,
there lies a bright green star at the center of the Corinosian System. This system
is the center of much conflict, being a solar system with an unusually high
concentration of habitable planets. These include: Corinosia I, Corinosia II,
Corinosia III, Tyrannea, Pythoria, Morlornia, and Ashtunis. Take care to
remember these names; they will become important throughout the story of the
Helviteos Nation.
Corinosia I, the
Homeworld. This is the birthplace of the Corinosian race. Unlike many galactic civilizations you've seen before, the Corinosian race did not have the luxury
of unification via diplomacy or conquest before reaching the space age. This
lack of unification has led to conflicts including the colonization of the
various other planets in this system.
The planet, Corinosia
I, is lush, green, and full of life of all types. It’s seen as a haven, and as
such, combat on its surface is avoided at all costs. One thing the Corinosian
race did well was protect the environment of their homeworld, but you can’t say
the same thing for the other planets they have come into contact with.
The planet of Corinosia
II, ironically, is the exact opposite of its namesake. Instead of lush and
green forest, Corinosia II is a barren wasteland of a planet. However, the rich
mineral deposits close to the core of the planet, and the abundance of fuels near
the surface, suggest it was once a lush planet before its orbit shifted and
the climate changed abruptly. This planet is seen as very
valuable in the eyes of the many factions of this system.
Corinosia III is an
ocean planet, of freshwater. It is still a mystery as to why this is, but many
theorize that it used to have a frozen surface at one time. Life never sprouted
on this blue planet, but its single most valuable resource and the primary
reason for its colonization is for its rich source of H2O. The element of life.
Tyrannea is currently
colonized by only one faction. It is as barren as Corinosia II, but even closer
to the green star, and as such, the conditions are very severe. Every sunrise
scorches the planet’s surface, and its atmosphere is near depleted. However,
the Tyrus Empire seems to have found a reason to settle here. It is one of the
many mysteries of the Corinosian system.
Pythoria is a world
shaped by now inactive volcanoes. There are many mountains, canyons, and deep
valleys see on this planet. When seen from space, it almost looks like a
cracked computer chip, green and covered in paths of yellow and gold, with great rifts as dark as the abyss. Abundant on this planet are many radioactive elements
used in weapon technology and the process of generating power.
Morlornia is a dark planet
near the edge of the Corinosia system. The dark and cold soil gives most
visitors shudders, and it is currently not colonized. It is the equivalent of
Antarctica on Earth, distant, cold, and unknown. Many teams of explorers have
tried to map out this planet, but it seems as if the surface changes each
expedition, and contact is lost once a team enters the atmosphere, making it a
dangerous journey that’s rarely attempted.
Ashtunis is a very
unique and diverse world. There are 3 main oceans separate the continents of
Ashtunis, and each continent features a completely different climate.
Geologists are still trying to understand why this is. The resources found on
each continent are also unique, but valuable.
As stated before, this
system is bursting with conflict. Many factions have formed, and several of
which have created colonies on these various planets aforementioned. This is a
story of one of these factions, The Nation of Helviteos. Welcome to the
Corinosian System, I hope you’ll enjoy your stay.
