A variety with a hardy exterior,
Is no simple feat.
To break lose of its shadow,
this tree with a delicate interior,
Would require something sweet.
And when the moon and stars shine bright,
This shadow becomes heavy and thick,
For nothing could hope to compare to your light.
If only you were here tonight,
I would stop feeling so sick,
And everything would be alright.
I often find myself unable to cope,
because life is never the same alone.
But with you, I regain my hope,
the pain only your voice can atone
for, will finally be washed away.
I often find myself unable to cope,
because life is never the same alone.
But with you, I regain my hope,
the pain only your voice can atone
for, will finally be washed away.
And this dark shadow will meet day.
