Poem - Comet

E. Weiß

Did you see that? There it goes.
Where to? No one knows,
But what its coming does propose,
Is that a chance for a wish has arose.

It's origin, it'll never disclose.
And when you can expose,
It's sight, willed to depose,
Darkness will enclose.

But until then, reap what it owes.
For as long as it glows,
This celestial object seems to have froze,
giving you time to wish what you chose.

Whether it's a jacket for the next time it snows,
or it's water for your desert rose,
This comet will disappear all your heavy woes,
and challenge all your many foes.
